The Core’s monthly music nights return this Autumn

The Core’s monthly music nights return this Autumn showcasing brilliant local talent and the best live bands on the circuit. Starting on Friday 23 September, Lab Music Nights are programmed in conjunction with Stevie Jones to celebrate five years since Wildfire Sessions began.

The Core’s Friday music night provides a relaxed and informal setting, with its own pop up bar, for audiences to sit back and enjoy a band they know or discover a new artist.

The September line-up is led by edgy indie pop band Yodaclub, known for their original bittersweet songs, dripping with hooks, melody and big choruses and featuring inventive bass lines, lush harmonies and rhythmic ingenuity.

The evening will be opened by solo folk artist Chris Duckett who hails from Market Harborough. With a style reminiscent of John Butler and Newton Faulkner, with roots reggae and blues incorporated, his engaging, honest songs and percussive playing make an engaging live act.

Northants reggae rock fusion dub band The Riddim Thieves is produced by Corby resident Mark Brennan and is a fusion of electronic music with reggae. Lead vocalist Rachael Millen complements this with her soulful voice and truthful lyrics.

Completing the roster are the five-piece Leicester based band The Brandy Thieves, who are fast becoming one of most exiting live acts in the Midlands with their combination of gypsy rhythms, punk energy, ska grooves and folk storytelling. Fronted by the powerful vocals of ‘The Tattooed Woman’ Andrea Kenny, the band have been packing out venues and headlining festival stages across the county.

Lab Music Nights return to The Lab at The Core on Friday 23 September at 8pm. Tickets are priced at £4.50 in advance and £5.50* on the door, and can be booked by calling Ticket Office on 01536 470470 or visiting http://www.thecorecorby.com. Lab Music Nights continue on Friday 21 October and Friday 18 November.
